Your Voice Matters! Everyone’s Voice Matters! Our Communities Matter!
The Belmayne Community Group have been actively working to make their scheme a great place to live, a new, resident-led initiative to increase residents’ knowledge of the Irish voting system and to allow election candidates access to the apartment blocks commenced in 2024. As a result of this initiative, over 300 residents registered to vote, and voter turnout increased. The improved engagement with our elected representatives is positively impacting our community.
With funding from the HFA, Clann is supporting the delivery of a resident led Social Housing Voter Education Programme across all housing schemes. A vital phase of this programme features a ‘Train the Tutor’ programme where residents and staff can participate in an informative and experiential course on voting and election issues. This training will facilitate delivery of the programme to other schemes nationally. It does not matter where you live as we will arrange free training in central regional locations, we would love for you to take part.
The coordinator and Clann would like to invite residents to participate in our Social Housing Voter Education Programme to facilitate peer delivery of the programme to all developments and to ensure everyone’s voice is heard and our communities get what they need to thrive!
