Early in 2020, Clann collaborated with residents on the formation of the Clann Residents’ Advisory Group (CRAG). The group was established in February and is made up of people from across the Clann resident body. The guiding principle of the CRAG is that of partnership, with the objective of incorporating the residents’ voice and perspectives into all areas of the organisation.

Despite global pandemic restrictions, the CRAG has gone from strength to strength over the past two years mainly carrying out its meetings online. Their work has included:

  • Co-creation of the resident engagement strategy
  • Co-creation of bio-diversity guides and signage
  • Presentations to the Board
  • Involvement in the financial inclusion research
  • Peer led environmental education
  • Input into the “Sustainability Matters” section of the newsletter
  • Presentations to colleagues at the Staff Conference
  • Contributing to the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) working group
  • Input into the resident portal

The National Residents Advisory Group (NRAG) and CRAG were shortlisted for the Allianz ICSH Public Choice Awards and won in the Housing Management category.

Deborah, Chair of NRAG, stated, “As a group we decided it would be a positive experience for everyone involved, working in partnership with the team to give feedback to any changes or improvements regarding policies, practices etc.

The NRAG and CRAG have a national agenda that considers the lived experiences of all residents and strives to make our Community a truly great place to live.” This was a significant achievement for the NRAG and CRAG who in two short years have achieved so much.
