Residents and staff of Clann schemes in Louth held an event to mark Suicide Prevention Awareness Day 2021 today. The residents got together to light candles calling out Suicide Awareness.

At a local beach in Annaghasan, some of the residents came together to paint stones in memory of loved ones who are no longer with us. A very personal tribute for one resident who was inspired to set this up after he lost a nephew at a young age to suicide at this beach.

Unfortunately, most of us know someone who has lost a life to suicide and its especially important to sign post supports and let people know that there is always someone to talk to. In support of this, residents held a coffee morning with coffee and cakes where they provided support leaflets with information regarding Suicide Prevention Day.

One of the residents commented “There is so much stress out there in the world and such less ears to listen to what hearts have to say. World Suicide Prevention Day reminds us to be there for people.”
