Resident support to help overcome life’s challenges

Clann’s Tenancy Sustainment team partnered with a network of national service providers to signpost a range of support services for residents. This online resident support service directory aims to empower people to overcome obstacles and challenges.

Understanding Resident Needs
The Resident Support Service was born from a deep understanding of the challenges faced by our residents. The Tenancy Sustainment team identified recurring themes within the community, covering areas like:

• Financial Hardship: Managing household budgets, accessing social welfare supports, and navigating debt issues.
• Mental Health & Wellbeing: Coping with stress, anxiety, and depression, and accessing mental health services.
• Employment Support: Finding and securing employment, developing job-seeking skills, and addressing barriers to employment.
• Family Support: Parenting challenges, family mediation, and accessing support for children.

A Network of Support
To overcome life’s challenges, the Resident Support Service offers a diverse range of supports from long established national providers who are specialists in their areas. Residents can self-refer or speak to a member of the Clann Housing Advice Centre for further details.

The Resident Support Service has already made a significant difference in the lives of many residents.

• Empower Residents: Connects people with providers to support residents to utilise the tools and resources they need to overcome challenges and improve their quality of life.
• Reduce Tenancy Risks: Helps residents to maintain stable tenancies by addressing underlying issues that can lead to rent arrears or anti-social behaviour.
• Improves Community Wellbeing: Contributes to a stronger and more supportive community by addressing the needs of the most vulnerable residents.
• Promotes Early Intervention: Enables early identification and intervention for residents facing challenges, preventing issues from escalating.
