Radharc na Cille festive outing

Clann is a dedicated age-friendly housing service committed to providing quality housing and services that enable people to create homes and thriving communities. Our team is committed to supporting people to remain living independently for as long as possible and providing more age-friendly homes and services.

In light of the new covid guidelines, residents in Radharc na Cille wanted to mark the festive season in a safe way. Residents were keen to celebrate this Christmas in some shape or form due to the lack of celebrations last year.

To support the residents to come together, Ciara Friel, the scheme manager for Radharc na Cille, contacted local hotel, The Carrigart, to explain to them the vulnerable nature of the residents that would be in attendance at the Christmas celebration.

Ciara was please when George and Para from The Carrigart offered to book out their entire restaurant to accommodate everyone safely for 2 hours. This made the residents feel relaxed and safer in the knowledge that there would not be any external guests at the event. The residents relaxed and enjoyed the a lovely meal.

Prior to the event, Ciara had arranged Secret Santa for the residents that wanted to participate. Many of the residents opted in as it gave them some excitement and great discussion prior to the event. The gifts were exchanged on the evening of the Christmas meal and there was great excitement with the residents trying to work out who got who.

A great evening was had by all and for many this was the first and might be last Christmas meal out that they receive this year so that made it extra special for them!!
