Quality in our Diversity project update
Quality in our Diversity is a joint Housing Alliance project between Clann, as a division of Clúid, Respond and Circle Housing. The project aims to further consider the experiences of residents from diverse ethnic and/or migrant backgrounds. With this greater understanding, the project strives to deliver more effective and culturally aware services to meet the needs of all our residents.
Our achievements to date include:
- Residents from diverse ethnic and/or migrant backgrounds have engaged in a coordinating group, with several actions identified by residents already realised.
- We are now a member of the Irish Network Against Racism (INAR)
- We have resident documents translated into several commonly spoken and read languages
- The language and accessibility application Recite Me has been added to the website to ensure everyone can access key information
- Recently, a groundbreaking survey was complete with Clann, Respond and Circle Housing residents providing feedback on their experiences of living in social housing.
We will be running national focus groups with residents, staff and management to further explore the common themes identified from the survey results before the full research report is published. Once the full research report is published, Clann is committed to applying key learnings from this research and will take actions to improve our services and engagement with residents, especially those from diverse ethnic or migrant backgrounds.
