Residents Associations – Are you considering joining one, or perhaps starting one?

A Residents Association is a community-driven group formed by residents to enhance and advocate for their community. The association works together to resolve local issues, serves as a platform for residents to collaborate on projects, apply for grants, and coordinate social events and can also represents the community’s interests by influencing Clann and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.

Joining a Residents Association provides an opportunity to strengthen connections with neighbours and positively contribute to the community. Clann encourages and supports residents to work together, ensuring all views are heard and represent the views of residents to make their estate and wider community a better place to live. It fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment, enabling residents to create more connected, resilient, and initiative-taking neighbourhoods.

Clann’s Resident Engagement and Insight Team support new and existing Residents Associations by:
– Encouraging residents to establish Residents Association
– Providing information and training on the roles and responsibilities of a Residents Association
– Supporting the development of the Residents Association’s constitution
– Provision of insurance for two years
– Advising on funding opportunities
– Advising on how to promote the work of the Residents Association
– Encouraging and creating links to existing similar Residents Associations
– Assisting in the planning of meetings including an Annual General Meeting.
