When a resident moves into a Clann home, we always hope it is a positive experience for them and that they find a good quality of life living in one of our schemes. We spoke to two residents about what the move into a Clann home has meant for them. Read their stories below.

Charles Scully

Charles Scully moved into his new home just a few a months ago. We asked him what the biggest change was moving into Marewood Court, Dublin. “It must be how quiet everything is. I am used to a lot more noise. I sometimes leave the patio door open so I can hear the noise from the cars going by.”

We also asked him how he is finding the community aspect of our schemes. “It’s great. I like my own company but it’s great having the social element here – there is always someone to say hello to. I know a lot of the people here already, so it’s made moving in even easier.”

Regarding his experience with Clann services, Charles told us, “Communication has been great, especially events and things like that. I am very happy with the service and living here.”

Annette McShane

Annette has been living in Lis na Dara, Louth, for three years now. She moved from a bungalow in another area of Dundalk where she experienced anti-social behaviour which left her very insecure and worried. When asked about her move to Lis na Dara, Annette said that she loves living there because of the security she has and also for the friendly environment. Annette loves her neighbours, coffee mornings and mixing with other residents.

Now an active member of the Lis na Dara neighbourhood, Annette was invited to attend the Louth County Council awards held in Bellingham Castle, where she was one of three to accept the award for third place in the small estate tidy town category. Annette shared that she felt very proud that they came third place and next year hopes that they will win first place! She would like to see the money won go to flower beds or something that will improve the estate further. Warm Congratulations Annette and the Lis na Dara community!
