European Neighbours’ Day 2021

The 18th edition of Neighbours’ Day took place on Friday 28th May 2021. The festival, an International success since its launch in Paris in 1999, continues to breakdown borders across Europe. Neighbours’ Day is now celebrated around the world by millions of people in the many partner cities, housing organisations and associations that are participating in over 49 countries.

In 2021, residents and staff in Clann celebrated the festival by growing links within the community. In Louth, we partnered with a Local Creche called Redeemer Crèche and Playgroup, creating a bond between residents of Clann and younger members of the local community while they are staying apart.

The children at Redeemer Creche made a poster with their handprints to celebrate Neighbours’ Day in a different way. Mandy Stevenson, Scheme Manager, created display tables to celebrate and invited Residents to partake in the festivities.

Residents enjoyed the treats to mark the occasion and are looking forward to meeting the children from Redeemer Crèche and Playgroup when they can.
