A Valentines Poem by Anne Casey
Anne Casey, a Clann resident, wrote a heartwarming poem for Clann’s virtual St. Valentine’s zoom event.
Anne tells us when she was writing her piece “I thought of my late husband Clive who I married in Toronto, Canada on the 2nd March 1957. I met him when we worked together for Gilbey’s winery on O’Connell Street, Dublin. I was 16 years old and I just adored him from day one and he felt the same.” Anne and Tony left for Canada in 1956 where they live together with their four daughters. Anne says “I have never loved a man like that again, never will. He is my poem, my love forever”
Valentine’s Day Poem
You will always be my Valentine
As each year goes rolling by
I gave you my heart
Long Ago
When it was just you and I,
We celebrate every year
You meant the world to me
Now I think back on my own
But it’s a lovely memory
My thoughts are always with you
When Valentine’s Day is here
And I always whisper
‘’ Thank You ‘’
And wish that you were near.
